Brad Baker Bio
Born August 3, 1974 in Nashville, Tennessee, Brad grew up around racing and knew at an early age that he wanted to drive. His racing career began at age 14 in the Tennessee Karting Association and the Tennessee State Asphalt Series. In 1990 he won the Tennessee State Asphalt Series Championship by winning all 14 events.
Brad is a graduate of Road Atlanta Driving School, Skip Barber Advanced Racing School, and Bob Bondurant School of High-Performance Driving. Not only is Brad a graduate of these fine racing schools, he is also a graduate of David Lipscomb University, where he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance/Economics and Management.
In 1997, Brad began competing in the Supertruck Division at Nashville Speedway where he received Rookie of the Year honors. In 1998, he made the move to the Late Model Stock Division, finishing seventh in points. In 1999, Brad won his first pole position, captured his first Late Model Stock feature win in the Budweiser 200, and finished fifth in points. Brad’s final year in the Late Model Division at Nashville Speedway was 2000. He competed in all but one event winning four poles and capturing four wins.
Brad lives in Nashville with his wife, Holland and sons Coleman, Mac, and Mason. He began his rookie season as a NASCAR Nationwide Series driver in 2001, though he is no stranger to the series. Brad has competed in 37 NASCAR Nationwide Series events from 1999 through 2007.
