Matt Crews
Matt Crews enters his 8th season in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and first season as president of Baker Curb Racing. Before taking the helm at Baker Curb, Crews was Vice President of Brewco Motorsports from 2003 to 2007 where he oversaw its’ sponsor development and marketing programs.
With the purchase of Brewco by Gary Baker and Mike Curb, Crews was promoted to lead the team in its move to Nashville and developing the new race team. At Baker Curb, Crews is responsible for overseeing every aspect of the race team on a daily basis.
Prior to his stint at Brewco, Crews directed the Williams Energy Motorsports account which was the Primary sponsor for Brewco Motorsports & driver Jamie McMurray in the Nationwide Series in 2001 & 2002 seasons. Crews was also the owner of a car in the NASCAR Dash series during the 1998-1999 seasons.
A Nashville area native, Matt & Wife Jenny have been married for fifteen years and have two children son Ryan (10) and Daughter Alex (2). Crews graduated in 1991 from Middle Tennessee State University where he was an outstanding member of two OVC championship football teams.
Shane Kennedy
2008 marks Shane’s fifth year with Baker Curb Racing with primary emphasis on the Kimberly-Clark Racing Program. Kimberly-Clark fires up for its fourteenth season as a NASCAR Nationwide Series sponsor, making the company the longest standing, continuous primary sponsor in the NASCAR Nationwide Series.
Along with the primary sponsorship of the #27 Baker Curb Ford Fusion, Kimberly-Clark also enlists Kennedy to manage their nationwide show car program, hospitality program, public relations / marketing program and various event marketing programs.
In addition to directing the Kimberly-Clark account, Kennedy provides support to other Baker Curb Racing sponsors and clients. With a sports medicine background and employment history with the Florida Marlins organization, Kennedy also coordinates the pit crew development program for Baker Curb Racing.
David Morse
David Morse is the Director of Corporate Partnerships for Baker Curb Racing. Morse has been with Baker Curb Racing (and former team Brewco Motorsports) since 2005 and is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships between the team and its corporate partners.
Morse has over fifteen years of sports marketing and corporate partnership development experience including major league sports teams, NASCAR teams and professional sports venues. Prior to joining Baker Curb Racing (then Brewco Motorsports), he held the position of Corporate Partnerships Executive with the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League.
During his time with the Predators, Morse was responsible for signing new major corporate partners including Ford Motor Company, Discover Card, Nextel (now Sprint), Red Bull, UPS and the U.S. Army just to name a few. David served as the Director of Sales and Marketing for the Nashville Superspeedway, a Dover Motorsports property, during it’s development, building and opening where he was responsible for all areas of corporate sponsorship development, advertising and marketing of the facility.
A 1993 graduate of Lipscomb University, Morse holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a double major in marketing and management.
Jim Ed Oberst
Jim Ed Oberst has been involved in NASCAR since December 2006 when he joined the former Brewco Motorsports in Central City, Kentucky as Director of Corporate Sponsorships. Aside from fostering new partnerships for the race team, his responsibilities also include the activation of sports sponsorship through event marketing execution trackside and also at various non-NASCAR venues throughout the country.
In addition to the race team, he is currently working with Swedish Match on their current launch of the new Red Man Moist Snuff, which includes activation/promotion at various venues with Maxim Magazine.
Prior to working at Baker Curb, Oberst was the vice president of sales for Progress Printing in Owensboro, Kentucky.
He currently resides in Owensboro, Ky. with his wife of 10 years Tara, and two children, Houston (3) and Sheny (2). Oberst is a graduate Brescia University in Owensboro.
